I came to the UK in 1988 and started work as a nurse. Over the years that followed I trained as a social worker, a teacher and a lecturer, and later as a life coach. Every one of those roles taught me the same lesson in a different room: people learn best when they are given something simple they can hold onto.
That is where my models come from. BANYAN, LION, STEADY, the SECOND Cycle and the others began as notes on a board, in a classroom, on a ward or beside a bowling green. Students and colleagues kept asking for copies. This site is my answer.
What you will find here
On the My Models page are the frameworks I teach, each with its letters and a line on how to use it. The BANYAN Way is a full booklet you can read straight through. My published books, and the ones on the way, are on the Books page.
A late start is still a start
I took up bowls seriously at sixty-four. I am now studying for my Level 2 coaching qualification, and I write about what the green teaches me as I go. If you are a student, a coach, a bowler or simply someone looking for a steadier way through life, you are welcome here.
Take what helps. Share it with credit. And if you would like a full guide, a talk or a session, write to me.
